History: The Nippons were LA's top Japanese team before World War II, competing against the best semi-pro and amateur talent of the day. The day after the Empire of Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, FBI agents showed up at the Nippons' game against a Paramount Studios team and questioned the players. This was the end of the Golden Age of Japanese baseball on the West Coast, as Order 9066 soon forced Japanese-Americans from their homes for the war's duration.
