The 1958 Miami Hurricanes squad were led by first year Head Coach Bob "Whitey" Campbell. Campbell, who excelled in basketball and baseball, was named the Outstanding Athlete for the first 25 years of Hurricanes athletics. His 4 years at the helm were all winning seasons. Major League Hall of Famer Jimmy Foxx served as the Canes skipper for the prior two seasons, compiling a record of 20 wins and 20 losses. The University of Miami is located in Corla Gables, Florida. The Hurricanes currently play their home games at Alex Rodriguez Park at Mark Light Field and are members of the Coastal Division of the Atlantic Coast Confrence (ACC). "It's all about the U."
