League: Collegiate Baseball
History: Coburn "Cobe" Jones, a senior on the Colorado Buffaloes Baseball squad of 1924, is the first and one of just four players to ever break into the Major Leagues from the University. Diabetes cut his professional playing days short so he dedicated his life to coaching, eventually ending up at the helm of the Denver Bears in 1941. As of today, the University of Colorado does not field a Division I baseball team having cut the program in the mid-1980's with the institution of Title IX. They do however, have a club team.
