History: Indianapolis won the first Federal League pennant in 1913 when it was an outlaw minor league, and repeated by winning the 1914 title. The primary owner was oil magnate Harry Sinclair, who built Federal League Park for the 1914 season. Despite their success on the field, the league wanted to place another franchise in the New York area, and moved the Indianapolis team to Newark, NJ for the 1915 season, where they became the Newark Peppers
