History: The Elite (rhymes with light) Giants had their origins in Nashville as well as playing in Cleveland and Columbus, OH, and Washington, DC before finally settling in Baltimore in 1938. The Elites won the NNL championship in 1938, and the first half title in 1948, losing to the Homestead Grays in the championship. Baltimore players in the Hall of Fame include Roy Campanella, Biz Mackey, Willie Wells, and Ray Dandridge.
