History: After a slow start of losing their first 6 games in 1950, Coach John "Hi" Simmons' boys won 11 of their next 14 games to to gain second place in the Big Seven race. Bob Wachter led in batting with .383 and lefty Bob Smith took pitching honors with a 5-1 record, including a one-hitter against Colorado and a first string berth on the District 5 NCAA team. Little Bill "Red" Eatock captained the moundsmen. The Missouri Tigers are currently members of the Southeastern Conference and play their home games in Taylor Stadium at Simmons Field, named after the legendary coach. Simmons had a lifetime record of 481-294-3.
