History: The purple & gold of the Tigers has represented sporting excellence for decades. LSU Baseball is tied with Texas for the second most national championships with 6; the Football program has 16 conference championships including 12 SEC championships, and claims 4 national championships. No programs have more fully embodied that excellence than Women’s Track & Field, though. The LSU Women’s Indoor and Outdoor Track & Field programs both hold more national championships than any other school, with 11 and 14 respectively. From 1987 to 1997 the Women’s Outdoor Track & Field program won 11 consecutive national championships.
