Seattle Purple Sox
When Seattle joined the Pacific Coast League in 1919 the team was known as the Purple Sox. However the next year it changed its name to the Rainiers and in 1922 became the Indians. In 1938 the team went back to the Rainiers so they were the Purple Sox for only the first year of their long existence.
