Portland Mavericks

The story of the quirky, against-the-grain Portland Mavericks was recently captured in the documentary "The Battered Bastards of Baseball". This bunch of has-beens and malcontents took on the baseball established in the 1970s, and despite the lack of major league affiliation, led the league or came close every year of their five year existence.
