Chorizeros

The barrios of East Los Angeles were a hotbed of Mexican-American baseball in the years following World War II. One of the top clubs was founded by Mario Lopez and sponsored by his Carmelita Provision Company. The Chorizeros ("sausage makers") became one of the top clubs in L.A. semi-pro ball and at one time were composed of the nine brothers - the Penas.
