Bainbridge Commodores

The United States Naval Training Center, Bainbridge was located at Port Deposit, Maryland. The location was approved by Franklin D. Roosevelt, and personally chose the name to honor Commodore William Bainbridge, who served in the War of 1812. During World War II 244,277 recruits including St. Louis Cardinals great, Stan Musial, were trained at Bainbridge and transferred to serve on many different ships and stations around the world.
