Minneapolis Millers 1951 Home Jersey

AMERICAN ASSOCIATION

HISTORY

In 1903 the Millers opened Nicollet Park and stayed there for the next fifty-three years. This American Association team was home to many baseball greats including Carl Yastzremski Ted Williams and Willie Mays. The Say Hey Kid was so popular in Minneapolis that the parent New York Giants took out ads in the local newspaper in 1951 apologizing to local fans for calling Willie up to the Majors.
