Amarillo Gold Sox 1961 Home Jersey

Amarillo Gold Sox 1961 Home Jersey

TEXAS LEAGUE

HISTORY

The 1959 team managed by Grady Hatton were powered by Al Nagel who led the league in batting average and RBIs but the team missed making the playoffs by a game and a half. In 1961 the Texas League played an interlocking schedule with the Mexican League and the playoff winners in each league met in the Pan American Series. Amarillo won the regular season pennant on the strength of their hitting.
