League: Collegiate Baseball
History: The 1931 Badgers were coached by Guy Lowman, who also coached football and basketball. Lowman had coached at Missouri, Alabama, Kansas State, and Indiana before arriving in Wisconsin. He started as the UW-Madison basketball coach in 1917, then in 1918 he took on the same role with the football and baseball teams. He went back to just leading the basketball team in 1919 and 1920 before retaking the reins of the baseball team in 1921, a position held through 1932. While in charge Lowman helped guide the program to their third conference championship in 1930. From 1952 until the program was discontinued in 1991, Badgers Baseball called Lowman Field their home.
