League: Collegiate Baseball

History: Although Oklahoma compiled the best won-lost percentage of any Big Six conference baseball team, it was deprived of the 1937 league championship by a technicality. The Sooners, coached by Lawrence "Jap" Haskell, finished their loop campaign with six victories and one defeat while rained out of a 2-game series with Kansas State at Manhattan, but did not schedule ten conference games as required by Big Six regulations. The protest was raised by Missouri, which declined to schedule the Sooners when Haskell opened negotiations at the Big Six council meeting in 1936. Kansas agreed to send its team to play the needed tenth game after the regular season was completed, but the offer was refused.

Ballcaps

Our caps faithfully replicate historic professional baseball caps from 1900 to 1970 and fit differently than modern caps. Try wrapping a piece of string around your head where a cap would naturally fit and then measure the string to find your size.

Size Head Measurement (in inches)
7 21 5/8”
7 1/8 22”
7 1/4 22 3/8”
7 3/8 22 3/4”

7 5/8 23 1/2"
7 3/4 23 7/8"

Measuring Guide

We offer three kinds of ballcap visors:

Pre-1940 ballcaps were made with soft visors so players could fold them up and put them in their back pockets. Later visors were done in standard (stiff visor) or short (also a soft visor). Check the product details to see which type of visor each cap has.
