INDIGO-DYED DOBBY BALLCAP HONORING THE TOKYO GIANTS

History: The Tokyo Giants began as an all-star barnstorming team assembled in 1934 to tour Japan and the United States. During that tour, the squad faced an American all-star team featuring Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and Jimmie Foxx. When Japan’s professional league formed in 1936, the team became the Tokyo Giants, or Kyojin. They quickly established themselves as the dominant club of the prewar era, winning eight league championships from 1936 through 1943. Pitchers Victor Starffin and Eiji Sawamura became early legends, with Sawamura throwing Japanese professional baseball’s first recorded no-hitter in 1936.
