AUTHENTIC WOOL ROAD JERSEY HONORING THE 1936 TOKIO SENATORS

History: The Tokio Senators were created in January 1936 as one of the founding clubs of Japan’s first professional baseball league. Backed by Seibu Railway and politician Arima Yoriyasu, the team was conceived as a Tokyo rival to the newly established Giants. Their home was Kamiigusa Stadium, a substantial new ballpark in western Tokyo. The Senators became known for their distinctive uniforms and aggressive style, but their existence was brief: after several name changes, the franchise was merged with the Nagoya Kinko team in 1941. Its legacy continued through players who later helped form another Senators club after World War II.
