Oakland Oaks 1948 Mesh V-Neck Road Jersey
$108 USD
V-NECK MESH JERSEY HONORING THE 1948 OAKLAND OAKS
History: The 1948 Oakland Oaks were called the "Nine Old Men" — a roster of veterans well past their prime, managed by Casey Stengel, himself a man still searching for respect after two failed big-league stints. Hall of Famers Ernie Lombardi and Cookie Lavagetto anchored the lineup alongside a scrappy kid named Billy Martin, whom Stengel took a particular liking to. The old men went out and won the PCL championship — Oakland's first pennant since 1927. The following year, the Yankees came calling for Stengel, and his famous dynasty with the pinstripes began.
Made from breathable knit mesh with tackle twill appliqué lettering and logos, this jersey is inspired by the away uniform worn by the 1948 Oakland Oaks.
