History: Just five seasons after a historic debut which earned them the nickname "el equipo que nació campeón"—the team that was born a champion—the Mexico City Tigres took the field for the 1959 season at Parque del Seguro Social. Sharing the ballpark with their crosstown rivals, los Diablos Rojos, the Tigres helped establish one of Mexican baseball's enduring rivalries, with alternating home dates turning the same grandstand into two entirely different worlds.
