History: At the very beginning of his hall-of-fame career, before he even stepped into the batter’s box for the Seattle Mariners, Ken Griffey Jr. played for the San Bernardino Spirit — a minor league team in Seattle’s farm system. During his 58-game stint with the Spirit, Griffey logged a .338 average with 11 home runs, 42 RBIs, and 32 stolen bases. Though it was only a taste of the baseball excellence yet to come, his performance showed he was ready for the bigs.
