History: The 1957 Hollywood Stars played their last season at Gilmore Field knowing the end was near — the Dodgers were heading west, and that meant the PCL's Los Angeles clubs were finished. The Twinks, as they were affectionately called, went out swinging: 94 wins, third in the PCL, with future big leaguers Dick Stuart and Bill Mazeroski on the roster. On September 5, 1957, the final out was recorded at Gilmore Field. The stadium came down a year later. CBS Television City now sits on the land where Hollywood played its last game.
