Detroit Stars Cotton Twill Ballcap
A TRIBUTE THE 1920 DETROIT STARS
History: The Detroit Stars were charter members of the Negro National League in 1920. The squad that year included pitcher Bill Holland and catcher Bruce Petway, who twice threw out Ty Cobb trying to steal in an exhibition game. The team name was revived in the 1950s, and played for a few more years during the waning post-integration days of the Negro Leagues. Their former home, Hamtramck Stadium, is one of the few Negro League ballparks still around today.
This classic ballcap, cut and sewn from sturdy cotton twill and finished with a felt logo, pays homage to the 1920 Detroit Stars.
