History: The Chicago American Giants helped launch a new era in Black baseball when Rube Foster founded the Negro National League in 1920. Under Foster’s leadership, the club won the league’s inaugural pennant, beginning a run of dominance that would establish Chicago as one of the sport’s great centers. Known for their disciplined play and deep roster of talent, the American Giants became the standard against which other Negro League teams measured themselves, setting the foundation for a franchise that would remain active for decades.

Made from genuine wool broadcloth in a unique 8-panel silhouette, this hat is inspired by the on-field ballcap worn by the 1919 Chicago American Giants.
