Brooklyn Royal Giants 1919 Cotton Twill Baseball Jersey
$168 USD
COTTON TWILL BASEBALL JERSEY HONORING THE 1919 BROOKLYN ROYAL GIANTS
History: In the spring of 1919, the Brooklyn Royal Giants returned to Dexter Park with a lineup still taking shape after the First World War. The club had lost stars John Henry “Pop” Lloyd, Dick “Cannonball” Redding, and Ernest Gatewood to the newly rebuilt Bacharach Giants, leaving Brooklyn’s roster “practically shot to pieces.” Still, the Royal Giants carried on through the summer, with catcher Louis Santop joining after military service. In May, Brooklyn faced the Lincoln Giants twelve times, and fans showed out in droves for one of Black baseball's most exciting rivalries.
Made with classic and comfortable cotton twill with felt appliqué lettering, this button-up jersey is inspired by the on-field uniform of the Brooklyn Royal Giants.
