Aloha 100th Infantry 1942 A-Frame Cotton Twill Ballcap
STRUCTURED A-FRAME SNAPBACK HONORING THE 1942 "ALOHA" 100TH INFANTRY
History: The 100th Infantry team consisted of Japanese-American players from Hawaii. After the Empire of Japan attacked Pearl Harbor, the U.S. government rounded up Japanese-American citizens and sent them to internment camps. However, the soldiers of the 100th infantry were granted an opportunity to “prove their patriotism.” But rather than allow them to stay in Hawaii, they were sent to Camp McCoy in Wisconsin. There they played baseball with other Camp McCoy personnel, but soon founded their own club, which they called the Aloha Team, with an emphasis on their Hawaiian — rather than Japanese — identity.
This cotton twill ballcap was designed with a retro A-frame silhouette, giving it a structured crown, a 5-panel construction, a pre-shaped bill, and a classic snapback closure. The 1942 Aloha logo was applied with an embroidered felt patch.
