Washington Senators (Nationals) 1951 Authentic All Wool Varsity Jacket
AUTHENTIC TEAM JACKET WORN BY THE 1951 WASHINGTON SENATORS (NATIONALS)
History: So here's the thing about professional baseball teams from our nation's capital: The original Senators were not officially the Senators until 1956. They were called the Nationals officially until then, even though they were in the American League and most fans called them the Senators. Then, these Senators moved to greener pastures of Minnesota in 1961 and became the Twins. The District of Columbia was awarded a replacement franchise in the very same year. What to call them? Senators, of course! These Senators shuffled off to Texas in 1971, and RFK Stadium was dark until the former Montreal Expos arrived in 2005 and became - you guessed it - the Nationals. Confused? Don't worry, all you need to know for our purposes is this is the last wool jacket worn by any team called the Senators or Nationals, and it's gorgeous.
