A RARE TEAM LOGO OF THE BELOVED ATOMS BOY BASEBALL TEAM

History: From 1965 to 1968, this Japan Central League team was named the “Atoms”, inspired by Osamu Tezuka's popular manga series Astro Boy, known as Atom Boy in Japan. Minor league veteran Dave Roberts joined the Atoms in 1967 and quickly became one of Japan's premier sluggers. Roberts was replaced by Joe Pepitone in 1973.

The team was then renamed to the Yakult Atoms in 1970, before renaming it again as the Yakult Swallows in 1974.

This mesh uniform is an homage to a logo used by the Yakult Atoms, highlighting the heroic Atom Boy as the team mascot.
