GRAPHIC TEE MADE IN COLLABORATION WITH THE ROBERTO CLEMENTE MUSEUM

History: On July 24, 1970 — just eight days after Three Rivers Stadium opened its doors — the Pittsburgh Pirates filled their brand-new ballpark with 43,290 fans to honor their star player, Roberto Clemente. Families flew in from Puerto Rico to see him play. There was a life-size wax figure of him on the field. And at the end of the evening, when the crowd wanted to shower him with gifts, Clemente asked them to donate the money to the Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh instead. Decades later in 2002, the MLB decided to designate September 15th as the league-wide Roberto Clemente day, timed to Hispanic Heritage Month.

In honor of the man himself, that historic 1970 celebration, as well as the day we currently set aside to honor him, we designed this 100% cotton graphic tee with a screen-printed design inspired by fliers and patches from the original Roberto Clemente Day on July 24, 1970
