History: The Fuji Athletic Club traces its roots to San Francisco in 1903, when artist Chiura Obata helped establish what is widely recognized as the first Japanese American baseball team on the U.S. mainland. The Fuji name later lived on in Portland, where coach Frank Fukuda became a major force in Northwest Japanese American baseball. After moving there in 1927, Fukuda led Fuji teams to league and tournament championships while helping connect Japanese American clubs throughout the region. Baseball became more than a pastime: it was a way for immigrant communities to build identity, friendships and belonging.

Inspired by ‘70s and ‘80s retro sweatshirts, this Fuji Athletic Club zip hoodie is cut from a heavyweight cotton terry and finished with a double-layer felt applique.
