USA 1960 All-Wool Varsity Jacket
VARSITY JACKET CELEBRATING AMERICA’S FIRST HOCKEY GOLD MEDAL
History: At the 1960 Winter Games in Squaw Valley, California, a group of American college and amateur hockey players entered the tournament as underdogs against powerhouses like Canada, the Soviet Union, Sweden, and Czechoslovakia. Against all odds, they went unbeaten and defeated the mighty Soviets in the semifinals before clinching the gold medal with a dramatic 9-4 comeback in the final round — a story later dubbed the “Forgotten Miracle” long before 1980’s Miracle on Ice captured the world’s attention.
We borrowed the graphics from the 1960 team's jerseys and paired it with a classic varsity jacket made with a wool body and finished with chenille patches and lettering.
