History: The Senadores were founded in 1938 and were charter members of the Puerto Rican League. They represented the capital, San Juan, along with their arch rivals the Santurce Cangrejeros. Home games were played at Sixto Escobar Stadium, and later at Hiram Bithorn Stadium. San Juan won their first league championship in 1945-46, and went on to win seven more titles during their time in the league.
