Michigan State 1940 Home Jersey
5$235.00
History: In 1940, Head Coach "Jawin John" Kobs led the Michigan State Spartans baseball team to a record of 12-8 despite the squad having to battle an epidemic of the mumps! For those that were healthy enough to suit up, the #1 pitcher of the year for State was Detroit native Frank Mekules. Shortstop Norm Duncan led all hitters for the second straight year with a batting average of .398. Coach Kobs served at the helm from 1925 - 1963 compiling a record of 574-377-16. The Michigan State Spartans are members of the Big Ten conference and play their home games in Drayton McLane Baseball Stadium at John H. Kobs Field, named after the legendary coach.
