Garr would set an NAIA batting record hitting .582 as a Senior before a successful 12 year Major League career mostly with the Atlanta Braves. Grambling State is a historically black university (HBCU) located in Grambling, Louisiana. The Tigers currently play in the Western Division of the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC). Home games are played at Wilbert Ellis Field in Ralph Waldo Emerson Jones Park. "Where everybody is somebody!"
