History: The first name one thinks of when Grambing State football is mentioned is the legendary Head Coach Eddie Robinson. Robinson amassed an incredible record of 408-165-15 over a career that spanned 57 years (3rd most wins in College Football history). He picked up 9 Black College National Championships and 17 Southwestern Athletic Conference titles and too many coaching accolades to mention in this space. Robinson coached over 4,000 players during his tenure (80% graduated with degrees) and sent over 200 to the pro ranks including Pro Football Hall of Famers Buck Buchanan, Charlie Joiner, Willie Davis and Willie Brown. Robinson was elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 1997. The Grambling State Tigers football team are currently members of the South Western Athletic Conference (SWAC) Western division and play their home games in Eddie Robinson Stadium, Grambling, Louisiana.
