Mystery Caps of Mexico – Transito 1930 Authentic Wool Ballcap
LIMITED EDITION RE-CREATION OF THE BALLCAP FOR THE MEXICO CITY TRANSIT DEPARTMENT
History: A few years ago we were researching some Mexican baseball history when we stumbled across a large cache of black and white photos, mostly from the 1920s and earlier. Although most of the photos were uncaptioned save a team name, we were able to dig up additional sources and some of our knowledgeable customers even helped fill in a few gaps. We now know that these photographs represented a time when baseball exploded in the Mexico City area. The teams represented were mostly from civic and governmental organizations and the military, with a few early professional teams included.
We’re proud to release the third capsule in our “Mystery Caps of Mexico” collection, featuring six caps never before available through Ebbets, or anywhere else. They have been produced in very limited quantities for a limited time only, guaranteeing that you will have a true collector’s item.
Made from genuine wool broadcloth with a felt patch logo, this is a recreation of the ballcap worn by Transito club, a municipal team formed by the Transit Department of Mexico City. The significance of the number 2 remains unknown.
