V-NECK MESH JERSEY HONORING THE 1940 ATLANTA BLACK CRACKERS
History: The Atlanta Black Crackers built their reputation through perseverance in the ever-changing world of Black baseball. In 1938, they won the Negro American League’s second-half championship, only for their title series against the Memphis Red Sox to end without a declared champion. Financial troubles sent the team to Indianapolis in 1939, where it played as the ABCs. In a photograph captioned “Atlanta Black Crackers, 1940,” players wear a mix of jerseys marked “Atlanta” and “ABC” — a striking glimpse of a scrappy franchise in transition, and a reminder that Black baseball history rarely fit neatly into the record books.
Made from breathable knit mesh with tackle twill appliqué lettering and logos, this jersey is inspired by the uniform worn by the 1940 Atlanta Black Crackers.
