History:Founded in Córdoba, Veracruz, the Cafeteros carried the spirit of Mexico’s coffee-growing region onto the baseball diamond, becoming one of the Mexican League’s most distinctive clubs. Their first era arrived in the late 1930s, when the team quickly established itself as a powerhouse, winning the 1939 championship behind legendary player-manager Lázaro Salazar. Though the franchise would later return in several different eras, the Cafeteros name remained tied to Córdoba’s proud baseball tradition and the city’s enduring love for the game.
