KANSAS CITY ATHLETICS WINDBREAKER FROM THE 60’S

History: The perennial second division Dodgers opted to shake things up in ‘37 with a radical departure from the norm when they dropped blue and adopted kelly green as their primary team color. Not only that, they eschewed the traditional road grays and instead sported tan uniforms with green lettering and trim for away games. Although the new color scheme didn’t help much on the field (the Bums finished sixth), Brooklyn was successful in adding a bit of color to the staid ranks of major league uniforms. However, the green was dropped in 1938, and we wouldn’t see the color return to MLB parks until the 1960s and Charlie Finley’s Athletics.

This is an authentic Kansas City Athletics satin windbreaker from 1963. Our line of MLB vintage windbreakers are inspired by models from the 1950s and '60s, and use our classic cotton-backed acetate satin.Â
