A BALLCAP CELEBRATING THE GREAT BAMBINO AND THE 1939 WORLD’S FAIR

History:
The 1939 World’s Fair was held in Queens, New York, in what is now Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Titled “The World of Tomorrow,” the exhibition was built around imagining a brighter future, and saw over 45 million visitors over its two-year existence. Yankees slugger Babe Ruth, whose legacy had only grown since his retirement in ‘35, helped promote the event by appearing in parades and offering batting lessons to kids at the fair’s “Academy of Sport.” During many of these events, he wore a custom-made New York jersey featuring the 1939 World Fair logo on the sleeve and their orange-and-blue color scheme in the lettering.

This cotton twill hat is designed with the same lettering and style as that iconic jersey, and features the ‘Trylon and Perisphere’ 1939 World’s Fair logo embroidered on the side.
