After securing the 1945–46 league title, the Elefantes built toward their defining campaign a decade later. The 1955–56 club combined disciplined pitching, timely power, and veteran leadership to capture the Cuban League crown before dominating the 1956 Caribbean Series. Facing the best teams from Puerto Rico, Panama, and Venezuela, Cienfuegos finished atop the standings, confirming that their success at home translated on the regional stage. With Minnie Miñoso’s dynamic bat and clubhouse presence helping set the tone, the Elefantes delivered one of the proudest seasons in franchise history.
