JERSEY HONORING JOHN SMOLTZ'S TIME WITH THE RICHMOND BRAVES

History:
Ace pitcher John Smoltz spent 20 of his 21 major league seasons in Atlanta, where he helped lead the Braves to a World Series win in 1995. The following year he posted an incredible 24–8 record, tying the record for most victories by an NL pitcher since 1972 and earning himself a Cy Young award. But before making it to the majors and going onto his hall-of-fame career, he played for the Richmond Braves, a minor league outfit in Atlanta's farm system. In his last start before being called up to the bigs, Smoltz pitched five perfect innings. No wonder they wanted him in the show right after that performance.

Made from a polyester knit fabric with a sturdy hand-feel and a tackle twill appliqué logo, this jersey pays homage to the time John Smoltz spent with the Richmond Braves minor league team.
