WOOL BALLCAP HONORING THE 1950 SEATTLE RAINIERS

History: The 1950 Seattle Rainiers drew nearly half a million fans — 492,000 through the turnstiles at Sicks' Stadium — despite finishing 96-104 under manager Paul Richards. Seattle had that kind of relationship with its Rainiers: win or lose, the city showed up. Richards would leave after the season to manage the Chicago White Sox. The following year, with Hall of Famer Rogers Hornsby in the dugout and a five-tool dynamo named Jungle Jim Rivera in the outfield, the Rainiers would win the pennant. But 1950 was the year before all that — the year Seattle just came out to watch baseball.
