Los Angeles Angels (PCL) 1957 Mesh V-Neck Home Jersey
$108 USD
V-NECK MESH JERSEY HONORING THE 1957 LOS ANGELES ANGELS OF THE PCL
History: Steve Bilko — the Angels' top slugger, nicknamed the Babe Ruth of the PCL — had a publicist keep meticulous count of how often his name appeared in the Los Angeles papers. "There wasn't a movie star that could touch him," the publicist once said. By 1957, Bilko had won three straight PCL MVP awards and was the biggest celebrity in town — a 6-foot-1, 240-pound first baseman who hit 56 home runs that season, drove in 140, and played out his final year with the Angels as the Dodgers were packing up to leave Brooklyn. The major leagues were coming to Los Angeles, which meant the end of the line for the PCL Angels. They went out with Bilko, still swinging.
Made from breathable knit mesh with tackle twill appliqué lettering and logos, this jersey is inspired by the home uniform worn by the 1957 Los Angeles Angels.
