University of Notre Dame Shamrock Cotton Twill Ballcap
COTTON TWILL BASEBALL CAP HONORING THE UNIVERSITY OF NOTRE DAME
History: While Notre Dame was founded in 1842 by French missionaries, over the years its heavily Irish Catholic student body imbued the university with celtic heritage. The name “Fighting Irish” was made official in 1927, and the shamrock — a quintessential Irish symbol — became a secondary emblem for the school, eventually making its way to the side of Notre Dame football helmets from 1959-62.
Made from sturdy and breathable cotton twill with a felt appliqué logo, this ballcap is styled after rare vintage finds and is destined to become one itself some day.
