University of Michigan Heavyweight Cotton Terry Crewneck
THROWBACK CREWNECK BASED ON VINTAGE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN SWEATSHIRTS
History: Back in the ‘40s, Michigan head coach Fritz Crisler oversaw football’s first implementation of a ‘two-platoon’ system, separating the team into offensive and defensive specialists. This bold new strategy helped his 1947 squad to dominate USC 49-0 in the Rose Bowl and finish the season undefeated, a feat they would repeat the following year to bring home back-to-back national championships and cement Michigan’s place as a powerhouse in college football history.
For our vintage-style Michigan crewneck, we dug into the archives and found this graphic from the ‘80s, which pairs perfectly with our looser-fitting, heavyweight cotton pullover.
