Boston Shamrocks
The second AFL was a major East Coast League with the addition of the Los Angeles franchise. The Shamrocks won the 1936 league title, playing in Fenway Park (the gridiron was placed across the outfield). The Shamrocks often bested the rival NFL Redskins in attendance, prompting that team to move to Washington, DC in 1937. However, the league folded after the 1937 season, and the Shamrocks became an independent team.
