THE EXACT LOGO OF ONE OF NYC’S GREAT NEGRO LEAGUE TEAMS
History: Contrary to what you might assume, the New York Cubans were not an all-Cuban team. The franchise had its origins in Havana, but by 1935 when the new Cubans club was established in the Negro National League, the roster included players from Cuba, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and Mexico as well. Over the years, the team included legendary players like Perucho Cepeda, Tetelo Vargas, Martin Dihigo, Luis Tiant, Sr., and Minnie Miñoso — and in 1947 they won the Negro League World Series over the Cleveland Buckeyes.
