History: The man who would become known as “Hammerin’ Hank” had a tryout with the Brooklyn Dodgers in 1949 as a 15-year-old. The Dodgers passed, but after Aaron joined the Indianapolis Clowns of the Negro American League, the scouts took notice. He was offered contracts by both the New York Giants and the Boston Braves. As the Braves offered $50 more per month, Hank signed with Boston, who assigned him to their Eau Claire, Wisconsin farm club. He was called up to the Braves – now in Milwaukee – in 1954. Hank famously broke Babe Ruth’s all-time home run record on April 8, 1975, when he hit #715 off a pitch by Al Downing (who coincidentally also wore #44). We offer two choices for Hank’s signature hat: This one with the classic 1950s colors, and one matching the 1974 colors and number font.

7 1/8 22”
7 1/4 22 3/8”

We offer three kinds of ballcap visors:

Pre-1940 ballcaps were made with soft visors so players could fold them up and put them in their back pockets. Later visors were done in standard (stiff visor) or short (also a soft visor). Check the product details to see which type of visor each cap has.
