Grateful Dead Double Bolt Wool Ballcap
A BALLCAP CELEBRATING THE ICONIC GRATEFUL DEAD
History: Once upon a time, a guitar wiz by the name of Jerry Garcia teamed up with buddies Bob Weir and Ron McKernan to form a jug band called Mother McCree’s Uptown Jug Champions. They played acoustic tunes around Palo Alto, California for a while before going electric, adding drummer Bill Kreutzmann and bassist Phil Lesh to the group, and briefly changing their name to the Warlocks before settling on Grateful Dead in 1965. They became the house band for Ken Kesey’s acid test parties, where they developed and honed their signature hypnotic and improvisational style — a mystical, psychedelic sound that has dripped down the halls of music history for over half a century now.
This ballcap celebrates the 60th anniversary of the legendary Grateful Dead, featuring a genuine wool broadcloth construction, our signature green satin underbrim, and a wool felt logo borrowed from an old Dead album cover.
