THE AUTHENTIC ON-FIELD BALLCAP OF THE 1955 BROOKLYN DODGERS

History: Between 1953 and 1963, during what came to be known as the “Decade of Change” in baseball, six teams moved to new cities and four brand new ballclubs joined the majors.

In 1957 the Brooklyn Dodgers would break the hearts of thousands of Brooklynites and make their historic move to Los Angeles, but they left a parting gift. After demolishing the rest of the National League in 1955, the Dodgers battled their crosstown rivals the Yankees in a hard-fought 7-game World Series before clinching the championship. Jackie Robinson stole home in game 1. Yogi Berra, Mickey Mantle, and Roy Campanella all hit decisive home runs. And this would be the only World Series bout in history to be hosted in part at the original Ebbets Field.

Ebbets teamed up with Mitchell & Ness to create the Decade of Change Collection, honoring the era with period-accurate ballcaps like this one — handmade in the U.S.A. from genuine wool broadcloth and featuring the flat embroidery style typical of the time. In every fiber and stitch, this hat is an authentic recreation of the cap worn by the Dodgers in their epic 1955 World Series run.
